This animation plays with a central attractor, but with a twist—each particle has a touch of negative gravity, repelling its neighbors. The balance between attraction and repulsion pulls them into a fleeting dance, only for mass and rotation to push everything apart... before the cycle starts again.

This whole project has been a reminder that creative coding is more than the sum of its outputs. It’s about what you become in the process. I’m leaving this series with a ton of new skills, a better grasp of coding, and a renewed excitement for what’s next.

This whole project started as a way to push myself

This whole project started as a way to push myself—learning Python by doing something fun and personal instead of just grinding through tutorials. Fast-forward to today, and I’ve built an entire alphabet of generative art, with each letter marking an experiment, a discovery, or (let’s be real) a complete failure at times. 😅

But what stands out the most isn’t the finished pieces—it’s what I’ve learned about problem-solving, creativity, and sticking with things when they get tricky. Plus, I picked up skills like Git and Lua (hello, Neovim!) along the way, which I never saw coming.

Zara might be the last in this series, but it’s not the end. Animations are calling. And I’ve got a Substack post brewing that’ll break down the code for Zara if you’re curious (link in bio). 🎨

Here we are—Zara, the final piece in my journey through the alphabet of code-generated art. 🖤 Inspired by the rough elegance of concrete and stone, this one pushed me to explore Perlin noise, Gaussian blurs, and normal distributions. It’s the kind of project where the learning far outweighs the final result, but hey, that’s the point, right?

This marks the end of a challenge I set myself ages ago to learn Python in a way that felt creative and mine. Along the way, I picked up a little Lua and tools like Git, and Neovim - and ended up more comfortable with code than I ever thought possible. 🎉
